Property management is sometimes referred to as third party management. It has been around for so many years but before it became a career or a job, a company or a title, property management is something property owners and people around the land attended to.

Managing a property can mean different things to different individuals. For some people, property management may mean keeping their property pleasant to the eye, safe and secure while for others, it may mean hiring someone else to take care of the property. Public transportation buildings, malls, office buildings, houses, condos, town homes, shopping centers, condominiums, and apartments are only some of the types of properties that might need property management.

Acting as the middle person between the owner of the property or landlord and the tenant is one of the important roles of property management. This is done by providing the owner with the feeling of security knowing that even if he is away, the property is well taken care of and the concerns of the renter can be resolved without having to unnecessarily involve him, while making sure that the tenant is also satisfied about how the property is being maintained to some set of standards.
