I also miss the side scrollers. There was a certain depth and difficulty that can't be matched with these new 3d games. There are a few 3d games that succeeded in bringing back the difficulty and fun from the the old 2d side scrollers. Resident Evil 4, Metal Gear Solid 3, Maximo versus the Army of Zin, and Devil May Cry 3 all matched the difficulty and depth from the older 2d games. Also, the final extra hard shadow stages from Sonic Adventure 2 brought back the magic from the older 2d sonic games. But anything else from the 3d sonic games has been crap.

yes indeed I have seen Braid. I haven't had the chance to play it yet, but it looks fantastic. I will definitely get around to that one!
